I am all for learning some pf these skills. That is what made our families think we had gone kind of hippie for a few years ;-) Sorry, I do love my flush toilets and even my automatic dishwasher.
I have been rather concerned about the direction some of the blogs have taken when it comes to fire arms lately.
I am not opposed to firearms, in fact I feel it is our constitutional right.
Because I was often alone with our kids in the country, we have kept a loaded gun in our home. I shot my first rifle when I was four years old. So did all of my kids. We had to keep a loaded gun in our home and they had to understand that guns were not toys! My husband is a life time member of NRA, our daughter is also a member.
My point is, I feel that we shouldn't get carried away with the gun thing. I see where others are "arming" themselves to protect their food storage, etc. I have to wonder what they would do if the prophet put out the word for everyone to bring their supplies to the ward houses to be utilized for the good of all.
I have also seen a lot of posts that seem to be taking the attitude
of frightening others to take action. Faith will last a lot longer in moving others to long term preparation.
I have watched many get frightened with what has been happening in the gov't and economy, get busy and then fall back into their comfortable bubble of complacency.
Those are my thoughts, for what they are worth. Amen . . . and I will now get off my soap box.
Well I did say they were HARD CORE. LOL!!!
As far as guns go...we have them and and know how to use them. We do not have them to protect our food. We have them to hunt for food and our protection if needed.
And feel free to get on your soap box anytime here.
I did ask for it. LOL!
Hard core, I think I like that :)
Actually, we're a pretty wide-ranged group, each giving their own experiences. I think as you read you'll notice several different options about different topics.
Thanks for the link, and hope we're helpful.
