Whatever Wednesday

Garden Tips

Parade magazine had some good tips on Sunday. The link to the whole article is here. The tip I am most eager to try is the one about eggs shells and tomatoes.

Eggshells are a good source of calcium, essential for tomatoes; without it, they develop brown patches known as blossom-end rot. Just crush the shells and sprinkle the bits on the soil.

I'll let you know if it works!
Making resumes work
The News Tribune had a great article Sunday on making the most of your resume work. Be sure to check out other links on their page. There is even a free trail at a networking site. You may think you need not worry about this but odds are you know at least one person who is unemployed right now. So if you don't need it for yourself think about those you know.

Working It Wednesday

It's all about who you know
You can search the want adds and scour the Internet but one of the most effective ways to find a job is networking. Ask, and a majority of people will say that they got their job by knowing someone. So you may ask, " How do you network?" I have once again decided to link you to some site that can help.
From LDS.org
Effective Networking Networking is the most effective way to find a job; approximately 70 percent of all jobs are found this way.
The RileyGuide also had some great ideas and a great explanation of networking online as well as through friends, and associates.
Happy Networking!!

Job Search Internet Site
In addition to your ward Employment specialist we also have the world wide web. Here are some job search engines that are worth a peek. You know at 2am when it would be so not nice to call Brother Caruthers. Yeah, look here and call him in the morning!
Side note here is a cute blog entry about creepy resumes! It's a great reminder to KISS (keep it simple silly).
